It’s time to do the right thing: How our pro bono work is making a difference

At Inizio, we believe that it’s our responsibility to make a positive impact on the communities we serve and society as a whole. That’s why we are committed to supporting causes that align with our values through our pro bono initiatives.

Our people go to extraordinary lengths to volunteer and raise vital funds for community groups and charities, and we are proud to support their efforts by giving them the time to give back, as well as providing funding to support their fundraising initiatives.

Throughout October and November of 2022, our Community Action Day took place and saw 1,405 of our employees getting involved, 5,582 hours spent volunteering, and 190 community projects benefiting from their actions. Now, we’re thrilled to share some more of the inspiring work our teams have been doing through our pro bono initiatives.

The TRANSFORM project.

TCEG, an Inizio Engage company, partnered with TRANSFORM, a global initiative supporting social entrepreneurs in Africa and South Asia to deliver products and services that improve the lives of low-income households.

The relationship between TCEG and TRANSFORM started at the beginning of 2022, with its Behavioral Science Unit providing advisory services for several innovative and award-winning social enterprise solutions across Kenya.

TCEG’s partnership with TRANSFORM enables our people to contribute a diverse range of consulting, creative, and production skills to positively impact the lives of communities around the world.

This partnership is a key part of TCEG’s ESG commitment, and we are proud to support the important work that TRANSFORM is doing to create a more sustainable future.

The AstraZeneca physical disability & access to healthcare hackathon

In 2022, five members of our Ashfield Excellence Academy, an Inizio Engage company participated in AstraZeneca’s Physical Disability & Access to Healthcare Hackathon 2022.

Our team created the winning solution for the hackathon by proposing an app-based solution to combat the loneliness associated with bipolar disorder. Their app, “Bee you,” enables individuals with bipolar disorder to connect with a community and feel supported, so they can be themselves.

We are incredibly proud of our employees for creating an innovative solution that addresses an important social issue.

Operation Good Food & Beverages

Evoke, an Inizio MarComms company, operates a Multicultural Marketing Centre which has designed Operation Good Food & Beverages, a pro bono initiative that aims to challenge the longstanding negative impact of food advertising on black youth.

Studies have shown that 70% of all food and beverage advertising promotes unhealthy choices. However, black youth are disproportionately exposed to these messages, with a two to three times greater likelihood of being targeted by such ads. This alarming trend has contributed to the rising rates of obesity, diabetes, and other related health issues in the black community.

This movement for food justice was a youth-inspired initiative that leverages essential community organizations and influencers to amplify its message and spark a good food revolution.

By working together with community organizations and influencers, Operation Good Food & Beverages has shown that it is possible to address complex social issues and drive meaningful change.

Innovations in Healthcare

Vynamic, an Inizio Advisory company, partnered with Innovations in Healthcare (IiH), a non-profit organization hosted by Duke University. The organization is dedicated to improving healthcare worldwide by supporting the scale and impact of promising innovations.

IiH uses innovative approaches to improve access to affordable, quality care for those who need it. With access to the tools to enhance the organization’s mission, Vynamic partnered with IiH to offer competitive landscape analysis, marketing strategy, policy, and regulatory research, and requests for proposal support.

By providing critical support to healthcare innovators, IiH and Vynamic have begun helping to address some of the most pressing global healthcare challenges. Through their work, they are helping to ensure that individuals have access to the care they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

It’s time to do the right thing
